The Church
Builders League is a plan for sharing the cost of facilities for new
and existing churches from which the gospel of Jesus Christ and the
kingdom of God can be preached.
The Church
Builders league was organized in 1957 by action of General
Conference delegates.
Requests for
assistance are submitted to the General Conference Board of
Directors. The Board reviews each application on the basis of
standards adopted by the delegates. Church builders assistance is
used primarily for these congregations:
· New
churches to help with start up and operating expenses.
· Groups
buying or constructing church buildings which have not owned a
building previously .
· Groups
which are meeting in a building of their own that is not
specifically suitable for worshipping, and are buying or
constructing church buildings.
· Groups
relocating to a more desirable site.
· Groups
purchasing land for a new building.
· Groups
which have outgrown their present facilities and are enlarging,
buying, rebuilding, or exchanging.
· Groups
in need of serious repairs to their current facility which meet
appropriate guidelines.
Two appeals per
year are sent, in the fall and spring. Members of the League are
asked to contribute $25 or more to each appeal. At the present
time, more than 400 people and groups participate in making
contributions to each Church Builders appeal. The combined gifts of
the Church Builders League members will provide much-needed funds
for the Korean Church Conference.
